EUSS Family Permit. Evidence of identity and nationality

You will be granted an entry clearance in the UK in the form of an EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit where you make a valid application and provide the required proof of identity and nationality.

What is the required proof of identity and nationality depends on whether you are a Swiss national or an EEA citizen (a citizen of a Member State of the European Union, or a citizen of Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein), or a non-EEA citizen.

If you are a Swiss national or an EEA citizen, you must provide a valid passport or a valid national identity card. A “valid” passport or a “valid” national identity card is one which is genuine, has not expired, and had not been cancelled or invalidated.

If you are a non-EEA citizen, you must provide as proof of identity and nationality your valid passport. Therefore, if you are a non-EEA citizen, you cannot provide a national identity card as proof of identity and nationality.

If you do not provide the required proof of identity and nationality, your application will be rejected as invalid.
